Soft Cover, 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall, Very Good/, Two volume set, both books of which are in nice condition. A few errant smudges inside, but very few. Book fitted with rigid transparent plastic cover. Pages very clean with no names or writing. Only interior faults are light foxing to first few and last few pages and toning to edges of blue endpapers. A pictorial record of Wellman's engineering triumphs, primarily in excellent black and white photographs showing various products at work, including ore transports, fuel feeds, a hydraulic press, coke oven machinery, mooring mast, unloaders and many other items. Boards are handsome with an orange, brown and white small print design and paste-on title. Only faults are a tiny light stain to the left side of the paste-on and the former owner's name written small at the bottom edge of front pastedown. Otherwise pristine. Handsomely illustrated and printed on a heavy paper. A charming collection of Old English "receipts" for dishes both recognizable and unusual, including some for medicinal purposes. Our favorite is Hysterical Water! What's also lovely is a lengthy decription of the balls held at the Palace contained in a chapter entitled "The Ladies of Olden Days Ate Little at Debutante Balls". Printed in both Japanese and English with a strong emphasis on Japanese. However, the diagrams are in English and parts are clearly indicated with arrows for placement, so it appears that the instructions for building the models are clear in both languages.Models include Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausfuhrung A, B, C, D,E, F1, F2, G, H and J.Illustrated amply with both black and white and color photos augmented by technical drawings. Measures 5" tall by 7-1/2" wide. Covers show light staining to front and back, but are quite pleasing with their pastel drawing against cream colored cardstock. Pages are very clean with just a few small spots to last one and show three cigarette cards mounted to a page, all featuring birds of the United Kingdom with explanatory material. This one showcases items already purchased and in the State Department earmarked for the permanent collection, but in need of committed funds as of 1987. Both are tightly bound with some soiling and creasing to covers, though creases are all flat. The baking book shows light stains to some pages, a small bit of foxing at first page, small chips at spine and edges and the military cook's name and rank on inside front cover. Both are illustrated with large instructional black and white photos. Especially interesting is the baking book, as it has a strong emphasis on the use of lard in baked goods with a chart dedicated solely to packaged "war lard."
