Includes paintings, sculptures, calligraphy, historical manuscripts, architecture, swords, sword-mountings, etc. Dual Japanese and English text throughout. Previous owner's name and details on front free end-paper. Slight tanning on edges, top edge shelf-aged and foxed. Very Good/Very Good.

Decorative Cloth, Large 4to - Nearly 12" Tall. 68 pages of text plus two very large folded maps in pocket at rear, both produced at a scale of 1:625,000 (10 miles to 1 inch). A superb look at Britain in the Eleventh Century, showing even then the dominance of the towns that are today's major citiies. Beautifully-decorated front cover showing part of an illuminated illustration from the Canterbury psalter. Very Good.

London, British Film Institute. 1946, First Edition. Soft Cover, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 32 pages, stapled. The report on the conference jointly organised by the British Film Institute and National Council for Women in London in April 1946. It was not a delegate conference, and no resolutions were passed, but this includes some of the information and differing opinions offered by a wide range of speakers. Lightly tanned on edges, otherwise Very Good throughout in original blue wraps. Very Good.

Coronation Souvenir and Guide

London, Odhams Press. 1937, First Edition. Soft Cover, Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. 54 pages, fully illustrated throughout with B&W photographs. The Weekly Illustrated souvenir of the Coronation of King George VI on May 12 1937 at Westminster Abbey. Includes full details of the procession and service, the royal descent, the regalia etc. Includes a full-page colour photograph of the Crown on England with the Orb and Sceptre. Also includes photographs of the new king with his family - his wife Queen Elizabeth, later to become The Queen Mother, and the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret. A charming and historic souvenir, with a few original advertisements as a bonus. Very good throughout in slightly curled covers, staples rusting, centre form loose but complete. Very Good.

Lightly tanned and shelf-aged on edges, otherwise Very Good throughout in slightly bumped and worn grey cloth, gold/black embossed on front cover. Small inoffensive stamps of the Executive Committee Library in front and back. Very Good.

The Eighteenth volume of this very-collectable early German works on the human body, with many photographs of naked, women, men, boys and girls. German text throughout. Lighlty tanned and aged on edges. All in blue-black decorated and gold-embossed grey cloth, slightly aged and marked, bumped at corners. Very Good/No Dust-Jacket.

[Fold-out photogravure plate of 'speed on the water' is a tad crumped but whole.] Edges of boards rubbed and chipped. Internally pages clean and bright. A mine of information of 'how to make' that needs conserving. Info on cars, trains, boats, planes, gramophone records and much more. A photo of Alfred Hitchcock [p125] involved in the first British 'talkie' 'Blackmail' in a section on 'The Films'. Index. Very Good/No Jacket.

Comes from the Treasure Series of Children's Story books. 30pp. Coloured frontispiece, bright and clean, by the illustrator Freda M Baker- who has also made 12 line drawings for another story. Stories by various authors including Charlotte Druitt Cole and P. Radwon. Coloured cover - clean and bright- by M Holt. Some edge-wear to boards and some tanning to edges of pages. Binding is a tad loose but still firm. 'This book belongs to' coloured in by previous child owner. Scarce vintage item. Good/No Jacket.
