This early souvenir viewbook of Los Angeles is illustrated with striking engravings of various architectural social and topographical elements of the local landscape. Downtown scenes and civic buildings as well as private residences are depicted along with more unusual subjects like the "Chinese Quarter" and the "Orange Picking & Packing" process. The eight- page pamphlet tipped in at the rear pastedown gives an overview of Los Angeles focusing on natural features and industrial growth. An uncommon and excellent illustration of the burgeoning Los Angeles of the 1880s.‎
