Cruchley, 1855. paperback An attractive map of the county on a scale of approximately four miles to the inch giving good detail of the new railway lines extending to Penzance and St. Ives with further detail of the polling places the borough boundaries and indications of boroughs returning one or two members to parliament etc. Beneath the overlay of updating and revision the underlying map remains that first produced by John Cary 1755-1835 some fifty years earlier. With a separate inset map of the Scilly Isles. Lithograph on paper with original hand colour. Printed surface 482 x 546mm approx. 19" x 21-1/2". Folding into the original Cruchley yellow paper wrappers; wrappers a little worn and creased; some minor wear to folds; a few slight nicks and chips to outer edges of map; a few slight marks but overall in very good state for a scarce and ephemeral item.
