G.P. Putnam's Sons hardcover New York: 220 p.; 20 cm. 8 inches. Illustrated dust jacket. Dark brown cloth with green stamped spine and cover titles. Vignette on title page identifies this as a Tom Gill Tropical Romance. First edition no additional printings noted. This volume formerly belonged to a Strawbridge & Clothier Rental Library. This was a circulating library housed in the department store. The dust jacket is in a clear library cover with red and black labels reading "Strawbridge & Clothier Rental Library Main Floor" covering the lower third of the spine and the entire back of the dust jacket. The section on the back also reads: "Walnut 7100." Although Tom Gill is best known as a writer of western adventure romances this novel is set in South America. The hero is sent to get rubber out of Argentine during the Second World War. In Good Condition: ex library as noted above; spine cocked; tape residue from dust jacket having been taped down; back hinge weak. A scarce copy of this Tom Gill novel. First Edition. Good. |
