anonymus - dirk braeckman
schwarzschild, Dirk Braeckman.
Hardback, 210x297mm, 64p, throughout colour illustrations, Dutch - NL/ French - FR - edition . ISBN 9789053253618.

ANRAKUJI, Emi (Tokyo, 1963)
Balloon Position
Fotografie in bianco e nero di Emi Anrakuji Cover design di Emi Anrakuji. 4to (cm 25,5x36,5). pp. 208 n.n.. Firma autografa dell'Autore (Signed by the Author). Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . Emi Anrakuji's "Balloon Position" is a stream-of-conscious-like unfolding of the artist's conflicted soul. Taken twenty years ago, the soft, sensual black-and-white photos form a visual poem about loneliness and existential confusion. "I cannot explain this photobook in words" – Emi Anrakuji. Emi Anrakuji was born in Tokyo, Japan. She studied oil painting at Musashino Art University in Tokyo. Soon after her graduation, she was diagnosed with a cerebral tumor which caused a severe degradation of her eyesight. The illness forced her to abandon her aspiration to become a professional painter. In the course of a decade-long recovery, one day she discovered that a camera can be a replacement of her eyes then began teaching herself photography at her hospital bed. Anrakuji's obsession with the human body is a result, in part, from her long periods spent hospitalized. In her art, Anrakuji is an alchemist of images and a catalyst for daydreams and desires. She is the author of critically acclaimed monographs, including her most iconic work "IPY" and "MISHO" which was selected as one of the finalists under the independent category of Lucie Photo Book Prize in 2018. Anrakuji's work continues to be exhibited and collected worldwide."Balloon Position" di Emi Anrakuji è un flusso di coscienza per immagini dell'anima in conflitto dell'artista. Emi Anrakuji è nata a Tokyo, in Giappone.

IPY
Fotografie in bianco e nero di Emi Anrakuji . 8vo (cm 25,5x35,5). pp. 80. . Molto buono (Very Good). . Prima edizione di 500 esemplari (I edition of 500 copies). . In IPY, Anrakuji represents herself as an alchemist of images and a catalyst for daydreams and desires. The vignettes of her self-portraits blur the boundaries between documentary and staged photography.Emi Anrakuji originally studied oil painting at Musashino University of Art and Music in Tokyo. By her mid-20s, she was diagnosed with a cerebral disease that severely curtailed her activities for more than a decade. During her gradual recovery, she took up photography. Initially, Anrakuji's audience was only herself and the jurors of public competitions to which she sent her entries. Since 2001, her efforts have earned her several important awards as well as increasing support from the art community. A prolific producer of images, Anrakuji often arranges her work as handmade books, one of which serves as the catalyst for IPY.
