To Mr. Strong in London returning several deeds (not enclosed), with suggestions to staff the Birmingham and Shrewsbury commission: "Having been in Leicestershire for some time I had not the favor of your two last Letters till Monday evening and now take the first opportunity to return your Deed of the 6 & 7 of August 1762. The Indenture of the 26 June 1778 with the Receipt for the Consideration Money. The Deeds of Lease & Release of the 19 & 20 of April 1780. And the Original Copies of Court Roll to be examined at Salop with the Court Roll. And as you observe that there need be but one Commission for Birmingham and Shrewsbury in case Mr. Richard Heast attends at Salop, I think it best to name him a Commissioner with Mr. Richard Slaney of Shiffnal Attorney at Law, Mr. Crees of Wolverhampton Do., Mr. Demberton of Salop Do. and in case another should be required Mr. Derkes of Sareshall near Wolverhampton, might be named. As to the Wiltshire Commission I leave it entirely to you to name a fourth Person with Mess. Still and yourself. I shall be very glad to see you here when you come into the Country [...]". - With a list of names of the commissions' staff to page III of the bifolium, probably in the recipient's hand. Unterschriften der Vormünder Maria Anna von Meixner, geb. Gräfin von Saurau, und Ferdinand Graf von Attems. - Die Verso-Seite mit einigen aus späteren Jahren (1808 und 1840) datierenden Vermerken. - Der österreichische Staatsmann Ferdinand Maria Graf von Attems (1746-1820) war seit 1771 Mitglied des Landtags der Steiermark und stand in Opposition zur Zentralisierungspolitik Maria Theresias und Josephs II. Nach dessen Tod gelang Attems die Wiederherstellung einiger ständischer Rechte. Während der französischen Invasion 1797 war er Mitglied der provisorischen Kommission zur Verwaltung des Landes. 1801 wurde er durch Franz II. zum Landeshauptmann der Steiermark ernannt. Attems war Mitgründer und 1. Kurator des Joanneums und initiierte den Bau einer ständischen Zeichenakademie und Galerie in Graz. - Geringe Randläsuren.

Gubernial-Konzeptspraktikanten Carl von Dilgskron (1807-83) in Triest, dem er für dessen Gastfreundschaft während eines Besuches in Venedig dankt und von der Heimreise berichtet, wo er u. a. mit "einem jungen Jesuiten, einem Capuziner, und mehreren anderen" gereist war: "[...] Um 8 Uhr kamen wir in Padua an, giengen [!] zusammen gleich zum Professor Professor Stöhr, wo wir einen recht lustigen Obristlieutnant von Bayern-Dragoner fanden, und zugleich soupirten, morgen speisen wir insgesammt dort [...]". - Mit stärkeren Randläsuren und -einrissen; Bl. 2 mit kleinem Ausriss durch Siegelbruch (dieses erhalten).

This distinguished knighted British actor has appeared in numerous fine films over the past half century -- "The Great Escape" "The Flight of the Phoenix" and "Jurassic Park" among them -- and has directed and produced others. Color IPS 10" X 8" n.p. n.y. Fine. Matte finish lobby card for Attenborough's 1982 film "Gandhi" which he produced and directed depicting a large open square with monument in background and limousine in foreground Ben Kingsley as Gandhi climbing the steps at left foreground. In a light area at lower right Attenborough signs large and bold in black fineline. Though Attenborough doesn't appear in this still scene this film was one of his greatest successes sweeping the Academy Awards that year and earning him an Oscar for best director.
