‎Lettre autographe datée et signée de Max Jacob à Pierre Aelberts, 2 pages sur un feuillet, 36 lignes à l'encre noire, à propos d'un éventuel projet éditorial de publier un recueil de ses dessins en album. Pliures inhérentes à la mise sous pli. Le poète met en garde son correspondant contre la possibilité d'un pillage de ses dessins si jamais il montrait l'album à des amis :"Je vous prie instamment de veiller à ce que personne n'en arrache une feuille par ci, une feuille par là... Les amis à qui une page plaît ne se font pas scrupule de se l'approprier : j'ai numéroté les pages..." et se montre favorable à ce que ses croquis soient reproduits en un album moyennant un contrat clair : "je ne vous en donnerais l'autorisation que contre un contrat fixant mes droits pour chaque édition et chaque exemplaire..." Max Jacob est au regret de ne pouvoir satisfaire la requête de son correspondant lui réclamant un autoportrait et un exemplaire de "Visions infernales" mais lui propose de lui adresser un autre de ses portraits : "... ce que je puis faire de mieux ce serait de refaire mon portrait dans le même esprit : j'avais, je crois une calotte sur la tête et un foulard..." Il presse Pierre Aelberts pour ce projet de carnet de dessins : "Répondez moi aussitôt que vous le pourrez, au sujet de l'album (qu'on me demande chez mon marchand habituel) et au sujet du portrait." With 3 heraldic crosses showing the coats of arms of the Teutonic Order (a black cross) and 4 drawings showing costumes of several members of the order, all executed in watercolours with some albumen highlights. 20th century calf, blind-ruled double fillet borders on both boards, spine ruled in blind and lettered in green. Highly interesting 17th century German manuscript of the Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem, commonly known as the Teutonic or German Order. Founded in 1190, it was primarily founded as a military society with its Teutonic Knights serving crusadings Christians in the Holy Land during the Middle Ages. In time, the Order also developed into a Catholic religious institution, although it would not lose its military function until the 20th century. - The present manuscript opens with a short history of the Order, beginning with the year 1190 and ending in 1606. It continues with the statutes, divided into several chapters, which are interspersed with prayers in Latin. This combination of statutes and prayers gives evidence that the Teutonic Order was not merely a military order, but also had a strong focus on religion. This is also reflected in the liturgical calendar, which is part of a chapter of the statutes, listing the saints and their feast days as celebrated by the Order. The end of the work (fol. 125) states that Maximilian III of Austria approved the statutes. Maximilian (1558-1618) was the Grand Master of the Order from 1585 until his death. The date 1606, as well as his passing in 1618, suggest that the manuscript was written in the first quarter of the 17th century. - The last five leaves of the manuscript appear to contain the names of the Landkomturs who ruled the various bailiwicks of the Holy Roman Empire's commanderies. These Landkomturs, subordinate to the Grand Master, were very often important German noblemen. - Uncommonly for this type of text, this manuscript is illustrated: the first illustrated leaf shows three black crosses, forming the arms of the Teutonic Order, including that of the Grand Master. The Grand Master's coat of arms is a black cross with a golden cross superimposed upon it, with an imperial eagle in the centre. It continues with four illustrations showing the typical costumes of several members of the Order. The second illustration in this series shows the white overcoats bearing a black cross, such as were typically worn by the Knights since 1205. - Only a few very minor spots, overall in very good condition. According to a 21st century inscription in pencil on the first endpaper, the manuscript was formerly part of the collection of the Belgian historian and politician Philippe Kervyn de Volkaersbeke (1815-81). Altogether a rare survival, and a rich source of information on the formal organisation of the most important 17th century German Order, but also on their statutes and their religious customs and habits. The manuscript beautifully reflects the religious as well as the military character of the Teutonic Order.‎

‎Wohl an die Pianistin Marie Hartzer-Stibbe in Hamburg: "[...] Mit Wehmut gedenke ich der friedlichen Konzert-Abende in Ihrer Stadt sowie Ihres mir hierbei stets erwiesenen gütigen Interesses. Nun fügt es der Zufall, daß ich Mitte Oktober mit meinem Trio auf der Reise nach Dänemark - das dortige erste Konzert findet in Aalborg statt - Ihre Stadt passiere. Sie würden uns eine besondere Gefälligkeit erweisen, falls Sie es einrichten oder veranlassen könnten, daß wir zu einem Anschluß-Konzert engagiert würden [...]" - Einen zentralen Platz im Leben Mayer-Mahrs nahm die pädagogische Tätigkeit ein. Von 1892 bis 1937 unterrichtete er am Klindworth-Scharwenka-Konservatorium in Berlin. Ab 1907 war er Mitglied im Preisrichter-Kollegium des Ibach-Wettbewerbs für Nachwuchskünstler am Sternschen Konservatorium in Berlin und bis 1933 Mitglied des Senats der Akademie der Künste in Berlin als Sachverständiger in musikpädagogischen Angelegenheiten. Er emigrierte nach Norwegen und Schweden.‎

Er starb in seinem 1874 errichteten Tutzinger Landhaus (heute: Hauptstr. 19, Boecke).‎

This document is a death certificate which is notified to Turkish Gendarmerie Command of Bakirköy. Signed by Mazhar Osman Uzman as 'bastabip' [i.e. chief physician]. Mazhar Osman was a mental diseases specialist, physician who founded the first modern Turkish mental health hospital in Turkey. Bakirköy Psychiatric Hospital (Bakirköy Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Education and Research Hospital), is a mental health hospital of the Health Ministry located in Bakirköy district of Istanbul, Turkey. The hospital is named after Mazhar Osman, who is also considered as the founder of modern psychiatry in Turkey. It was established with the initiative of Dr. Mazhar Osman (1884-1951) and approval of Minister of Health Refik Saydam (1881-1942) in the premises of Resadiye Barracks at Bakirköy, Istanbul on October 15, 1924.‎
