Feder und Pinsel in Grau, grau laviert, über Skizze in schwarzer Kreide, auf Bütten mit Fragment des Wasserzeichens: großes bekröntes Lilienwappen; mit mehreren Beschriftungen innerhalb der Darstellung. 34,2 x 21,5 cm. Die Aufschriften in holländischer Sprache bedeuten: ?Een karans van moerbije..? = Ein Maulbeerkranz, ?Olijf krans? = Olivenkranz; ?Plutus beelt? = Plutus Statue. Die Allegorie bedeutet: Frieden bringt Wohlfahrt. Die Frauenfigur links trägt einen phrygischen Hut, Symbol der Freiheit. Der Caduceus in ihrer rechten Hand bedeutet Frieden. Die Frau mit dem Olivenkranz (auch ein Friedenssymbol) entzündet Waffen neben einer Figur mit einem Blasebalg und einer Flamme. In der Korngarbe befindet sich eine Skulptur des Plutus, Gott des Reichtums. Für den Hinweis auf den Künstler und die Bestimmung des Bildmotivs danken wir Dr.E.P. Löffler, Rijksbureau voor kunsthist. Zwei niederländische Künstler am Hofe Friedrichs I. und Sophie Charlottes. Berlin-Brandenburg, Stiftung Preuss. Schlösser und Gärten, 1995, Nr. 7.1 f.). Wohl Entwurf für eine Dekorationsmalerei.‎

‎Matthäus Terwesten, jüngerer Bruder des Augustin (1649-1711), hielt sich von 1695 bis 1698 in Rom auf. Danach Übersiedelung nach Berlin, wohin sein Bruder 1692 als kurfürstlicher Hofmaler berufen worden war. Beide Brüder lebten dort in engster Verbindung mit der 1696 gegründeten Kunstakademie: Augustin als deren Mitanreger und von 1698 an mehrfach als deren Direktor, Matthäus als deren ältester Schüler. 1699 zog dieser zurück nach Den Haag. 1700 wurde er Direktor der dortigen Zeichenakademie, deren Mitbegründer und einer der ersten Regenten sein Bruder Augustin vor der Berufung nach Berlin gewesen war.‎

Collection of three vintage promotional photographs of the African American harmony quartet The Ink Spots. <br/><br/>A look at a musical group that was not only internationally famous in its time but greatly influenced multiple musical genres. The first sepia photograph dates to circa late 1930s during the group's first decade a promotional shot of the group singing for National Broadcasting Company NBC radio. <br/><br/>The second photo a master print for a flyer advertises the group circa 1952 when they recorded two LPs for Verve at the Mapes Casino in Reno Nevada. <br/><br/>The third photo circa 1960s advertises the group in one its many final incarnations in which only founding member Bernie Mackey was still in the group. <br/><br/>The Ink Spots formed in the early 1930s in Indianapolis. The group not only incorporated four-part harmony but each played an instrument cello-as-bass tenor guitar guitar and ukelele incorporating the vocals and instrumentation into a seamless whole. <br/><br/>The band's sound was a major influence on doo-wop rhythm and blues and rock music. The core group remained essentially intact during their most popular decades 1930s and early 1940s but due to the war in 1942 and the death of a founding member in 1944 various "sanctioned" substitutions for members of the group began to take place and the identity of the group dispersed into public domain. <br/><br/>The Ink Spots were awarded a plaque from the Negro Actors Guild for their efforts in breaking down racial prejudice. ‎Möglicherweise handelt es sich um ein Bildnis der älteren Tochter Tischbeins, Wilhelmine Caroline Amalie Tischbein (1757-1839), die selbst Malerin war, und dürfte um 1775/80 zu datieren sein. Die Dargestellte wird in ihrem privaten Umfeld gezeigt.‎

‎1915 Dessin à l'encre de Chine, maquette originale pour un éventail, signé en bas à droite, contrecollé sur papier gris fort (1915), 32,5 x 22,5 cm., sous Marie-Louise.‎

‎BENITO (Valladolid 1891-1981), est un artiste d'origine espagnole qui fut dessinateur humoriste et publicitaire, mais aussi illustrateur, maîtrisant la technique de la gravure sur bois, peintre et portraitiste au style décoratif très poussé, dont Francis Carco disait : "Dessinateur malicieux formé à l'école des Japoanis et des Persans, de Iricbe et de Picasso, mais ayayn fondu les bienfaits de ces leçons,en une harmonie d'une esquisse arabesque, Garcia BENITO joue avec un doigté admirable des ressourecs les moins attendues." (DicoSolo, 67). Il travailla pour les éditeurs TOLMER de 1913 à 1916 (Forney "Pages d'Or de l'édition publicitaire", p.255). Pour cette maquette originale d'éventail, il reprend le célèbre trio amoureux de la Comedia dell'Arte, Pierrot nous tourne le dos, sa mandoline accrochée au dos, jouant avec un papillon, tandis que Colombine, accrochée à son bras envoie un baiser à Arlequin, qui la salue amoureusement. Papier jaunie, taches et petits plis.‎

‎Paris 1967 in-8 aucune reliure 19,8 x 14,8 cm. Encre et lavis d'encre sur papier à carreaux.‎

‎Au verso, une annotation de la main de Jean-Michel Folon attribuant le dessin à Topor, le datant (1967) et le situant rue de l'Echaudé (le domicile parisien de Folon à l'époque). Topor et Folon étaient des amis très proches. Aucun doute n'est possible sur l'authenticité du dessin : si son style est quelque peu surprenant, notamment en raison de l'usage du lavis, le trait et l'humour sont caractéristiques. De même l'écriture de Folon est typique et inimitable. On notera que Folon écrit le nom de Topor exactement comme ce dernier signe et nous avons cru un moment que le dessin était signé de lui, mais nous avons pu depuis vérifier ce phénomène sur un manuscrit de Folon consacré à son ami. Bel état. (Sur la photo nous avons déplacé l'annotation du verso au recto. Voir notre référence n° 3506 pour une belle collaboration entre Topor et Folon.) Très bon‎
