"Antonio Farina de Plaisance, qui fut parmi les plus habiles graveurs que l'Italie ait jamais eut, gravait en 1834 les poinçons de corps 2 sur 3 points d'un caractére microscopique, qui a été fondu seulement en 1850 pour le compte de Giacomo Gnocchi. Après des efforts inutiles pour l'utiliser, le caractère passa aux frères Salmin de Padoue, qui l'employère à imprimer en 1878 mille exemplaires du fameux Dantino, livre qui est généralement appelé Le Plus Petit Livre du Monde à cause plutot de la petitesse du caractère que des dimensions de la page" (Fumagalli, Lexicon, pag. 276).
