Wide margins untrimmed edges top edge is gilt and there is a single gilt lined ruled around the covers. Bound in full vellum by "Bremer Binderer F.TH. Fieda Theirsch best known as Adolf Hitler's personal bookbinder an artisan of note who first studied with Charles McLeish of the Doves Bindery. This information courtesy of Nudelman Rare Books. Double page black & white illustrations taken from Botticelli's drawings in Berlin and Rome. The spine is faded as usual. Very clean throughout. This is a limited edition of 1475 copies this copy numbered 403. The orange vellum boards are ruled in gilt and have gilt designs front and back. The boards are not worn just the spine sunned. Small private owner bookplate on inside front cover. 12" high X 8" wide. A handsome production by the incomparable Nonesuch Press. Large heavy book foreign shipping will be extra.
