Most issues in very good condition although the 1st and last are slt. chipped & a little dusty with some archival repair. A very good unrestored copy overall. Forty woodcut plates by Marcus Stone. Missing many advertisements with some advertisements inserted upside down as follows: Part 1; repaired with front wrapper from Part 14 15 16 or 17 evidenced by: a erasure of a digit at top of wrapper next to "Part 1" b the date on the wrapper having been skillfully altered to "May 1864" c the advertisements inside the front wrapper being from Parts 14 15 16 or 17 not Part 1 d the bottom of the front wrapper contains the imprint of "W. Some flaws exist - in the first volume page 199 has a chip on the bottom of the page p. 247 has a tear in volume 2 - p 226 and the plate shows a bit of damage. The final rear end sheets have triange cuts out of them none of these flaws affect text to any serious degree. Leather and boards show some edgewear but are certainly acceptable.
