This early 20th century American edition of Dickens' Birthday Book is UNMARKED and has excellent quotations from the author's works that were originally selected by his eldest daughter in 1882. It is relatively scarce. The first edition--composed by his eldest daughter "Mamie" and illustrated by his youngest named "Kate"--was published in London and New York during 1882. See Gimbel D91. Later American reissues and reprints--some illustrated--appeared in New York. These were published by Barse & Hopkins 1911 and Cupples and Leon ca.1929.
