Laid in with the screenplay is a signed photograph of Carmichael and a manuscript note signed by the actor dated 18/8/73 giving the script to a Mrs. Mugford for her "celebrity sale." <br/><br/>Based on short stories written by noted British horror author R. Chetwynd-Hayes. Four customers purchase or steal items from an antiques emporium unaware that those who have displeased the proprietor face an unpleasant fate. The last in a long series of low-budget horror anthology or "portmanteau" films produced by Amicus preceded by "Dr. Terror's House of Horrors" 1965 "Torture Garden" 1967 "The House That Dripped Blood" 1970 "Asylum" 1972 "Tales from the Crypt" 1972 and "The Vault of Horror" 1973. <br/><br/>Maroon untitled wrappers with a die-cut title window in the British style. Issues run 8p. each folio leaves of alkaline paperstock printed folded and paste-fastened into standard 11x8.5 inch newsletter-brochures; illustrations are portraits of human investigtators as well as photos of possible extra-terrestrial vehicles also diagrams and pix of applicable engineering. Each number is punchholed for a 3-ring binder and folded twice more for mailing in standard envelopes. The back leaf of v.IVn.1 has been coupon-clipped with loss of verso text some punchholes are slightly torn open foldlines are severe but manageable a small lot in generally very good condition accompanied by a postcard with mailing address a membership application not filled in and five bulletins with pleas for manuscripts and funds. These latter must have been enclosed with newsletters being punchholed and creased. We see no markings no soiling all entirely legible. Originally published in printed paper wrappers this copy lacking the front wrapper but retaining the back wrapper. The tables are turned when a psychiatrist Jason Robards who marries a patient Jennifer Jones becomes more and more dependent on her as she regains her strength. David O. Selznick had originally intended the film as a vehicle for his wife Jennifer Jones but financial difficulties forced Selznick to sell the property though he was still able to guarantee a role for Jones. Director Henry King's last film nominated for an Academy Award. Set in Switzerland and on the French Riviera shot on location in France Italy and Switzerland. 8 x 10 inches. The story of a motley assortment of expatriates who travel to Pamplona to attend the running of the bulls it reflected Hemingway's own abiding fascination with bullfighting. Featuring a standout performance by Errol Flynn as the hedonistic hard-drinking burned-out Mike Campbell.in other words himself. Though considered one of the most honest "big" film adaptations of its era due mainly to the screenplay by novelist and Hemingway acolyte Peter Viertel the author is said to have walked out only 25 minutes into the premier. Zanuck's first independent production after his departure from Fox. The snipe on this photograph's verso suggests that Zanuck also had a hand in directing certain Parisian scenes as is depicted here. Based on Ferdinand Reyher's 1946 novel about a barber Wayne at the turn of the century watching his small town grow around him. He tries to shield his wife Nellie Peters from the outside world but she rebels while he is away at war and takes a fateful trip to Chicago in what turns out to be the first of a string of crises. Overall a stunning portrayal of early twentieth century midwestern Americana. Set in the fictitious town of Sevillinois Illinois and shot on location in Castleton Hutchinson and Pretty Prairie Kansas. Cream titled wrappers noted as SHOOTING FINAL on the front wrapper rubber-stamped copy No. 7 dated July 23 1951. Distribution page present with receipt intact.
