But the story itself is far more harrowing one of the most effective and disturbing Film Noirs of the 1940s with a Bernard Herrmann score including an actual "invented" piano concerto to go with it.<br /> <br /> The second of two key films John Brahm made with the great Laird Cregar in an unsympathetic lead role.
