Vol. 1 is the 2nd printing 1904 the 1st is very rare in good-only condition; the ffep is torn out and the blank page after it torn about halfway down at the hinge. Sm. bookplate on front pastedown in all 3 vols.; spine also sunned to brown. Vol. 2 1906 is apparently 1st edition but a reissue with the new binding and a half-title page. Good condition; spine ends and corners bumped; crack starting at last page; cracked at pp128 209 and 273; unsunned. Vol. 3 is the 1st edition 1908. It is in fair condition as book is broken at half-title page only a few threads of fabric attach the board to the textblock at the half-title page sunned spine that has a short tear at head pp354-355 darkened cracked at p1. <br/> <br/> Macmillan hardcover
