‎Erste Ausgabe. Italienischsprachige Ausgabe. Mit kleiner Titelvignette in Holzschnitt sowie einigen Holzschnittinitialen. Der italienische Franziskaner Giuseppe Maria Platina (1670-1743) war Professor der Theologie an der honorablen und geschichtsträchtigen Universität in Padua, an der unter anderem auch Galilei langjährig unterrichtet hatte, und ein unter Zeitgenossen auch über Landesgrenzen hinweg bekannter Rhetoriker. Sowohl seine theologischen Werke, als auch jene zur Redekunst, wurden beidermaßen seinerzeit als fundamentale und elaborierte Werke rezipiert. Einband leicht berieben und mit mehreren kleinen Fehlstellen am Vorderdeckel, Ecken etwas bestoßen und Pergament dort zum Teil aufgeplatzt, Vorsätze mit Knickspuren und unschönen Einrissen, die beiden darauf folgenden Seiten mit wenigen, winzigen Fehlstellen im Papier (ohne Textberührung), Buchblock in der oberen äußeren Ecke minimal gestaucht und Seiten dort mit zarten Knickspuren, nur vereinzelt mit kleinen, blassen Stockflecken, ansonsten, fernab der beschädigten Vorsätze, durchaus noch schönes Exemplar. First edition. Italian language edition. Vellum binding of the times with old handwritten title on spine. With small woodcut title vignette as well as some woodcut initials. Binding a bit rubbed and with several small defects to the front cover's vellum, corners a bit bumped (vellum cracked there), endpapers with crease marks and tears, the first two pages with tiny defects (text not affected), one corner of the book block slightly compressed (pages therefore with light crease mark), only minimal foxing. Altogether, besides from the damaged endpapers, still fine copy.‎
