This catalogue lists the lots at that 20 May 1995 auction. The results as noted on the pastedowns of this catalogue in English ink were disastrous. According to the staff person who was there and followed each of the 164 lots 40 sold mostly at low estimate 93 did not and 32 were withdrawn. Loose sheets of the succeeding 165-202 are included w/o much commentary. The observer made many comments some of include: thought more could be exported bank and company support promised didn't happen permission to export withdrawn at last minute used to be surplus cash around--hoped that would happen but people came to watch solid citizens. Interesting social and auction business commentary rarely appreciated. Christies later opened an auction house in Moscow in 2010. Christies Hardcover

He had an unusual artistic talent not only as a musician but also as a painter and in 1919 his paintings were displayed in Munich publicly. During the stormy years of the Weimar Republic he spent in Berlin the most significant part of his short and tragic life suicide at age 22. Wolfgang Graeser had personal relationships with Oscar Spengler this book dedicated to Spengler and with Albert Schweitzer. What is less well known is the many-sidedness of Graeser's genius and the conflicting influences brought to bear on it which led to his suicide less than a year after a triumphant concert performance.The life and achievement of Wolfgang Graeser show the fate of an early-matured person.
