Notable also as the thickest ever catalogue issued by Maggs partly because of the cataloguing approach taken by Sarah de Laredo - Clifford Maggs observed that "with a superb disregard of commercial value Miss de Laredo would do as long a note amounting often to an essay for a book worth two or three guineas as for one valued at several hundred". The shortage of paper makes the production of our larger catalogues an impossibility until more normal conditions prevail and the shortage of printing operatives renders the dates of publication uncertain.
