Xxxix 607 pp. A lengthy collection of essays by Edgar Allan Poe critiquing and reviewing many authors and poets of his day mixing in personal opinion and gossip sometimes resulting in rebuttals and personal attacks. POOR condition ex-library. Binding and extremities covered in black cloth tape. Usual pockets pastedowns stamping and interior/exterior treatments present. Missing any front pages up to the title page. Some scuffing and fading. Text block cocked. Interior hinges reinforced with white library tape with a few pages also bearing tape repairs in the gutters. Some pages protruding a bit from the block with chipping to their extremities.
