Lucrèce (en latin Titus Lucretius Carus) - Poète & philosophe latin du Ier siècle av. J.-C., (peut-être 98-55), auteur d'un seul livre inachevé, le De rerum natura (De la nature des choses, quon traduit le plus souvent par De la nature), un long poème passionné qui décrit le monde selon les principes d'Épicure.Cest essentiellement grâce à lui que nous connaissons l'une des plus importantes écoles philosophiques de l'Antiquité, l'épicurisme, car des ouvrages dÉpicure, qui fut beaucoup lu et célébré dans toute lAntiquité tardive, il ne reste pratiquement rien, sauf trois lettres et quelques sentences.Si Lucrèce expose fidèlement la doctrine de son maître, il met à la défendre une âpreté nouvelle, une sombre ardeur. « On entend dans son vers les spectres qui s'appellent» dit Hugo. Son tempérament angoissé et passionné est presque à lopposé de celui du philosophe grec. Et il vit une époque troublée par les guerres civiles et les proscriptions (massacres de Marius, proscriptions de Sylla, révolte de Spartacus, conjuration de Catilina). De là, les pages sombres du De rerum natura sur la mort, le dégoût de la vie, la peste dAthènes, de là aussi sa passion anti-religieuse qui sen prend avec acharnement aux dieux, aux cultes et aux prêtres, passion que lon ne retrouve pas dans les textes conservés dÉpicure, même si celui-ci critique la superstition et même la religion populaire. Contre les positions du monde clérical, il propose de se soustraire aux craintes induites par la sphère religieuse, à laquelle il oppose la dimension rationnelle. Ainsi, il explique de façon matérielle les objets et le vivant, qui prennent forme via des combinaisons d'atomes. FONDO DI MAGAZZINO: PARI AL NUOVO, PERFETTO E INTONSO Tutta la letteratura sul "Pierre Bayle" di Feuerbach si aggira intorno a una convinzione: che vi prevalgano aspetti da un lato polemici e dall'altro psicologici, a scapito di un discorso teoretico e comunque filosofico. Ma ridurre il Bayle a un manifesto ideologico o/e a un "diario intimo" è possibile solo se l'opera è riassunta o antologizzata. Per cogliere un altro e più filosofico senso del Bayle bisogna, quindi, vedere l'opera nel suo insieme e soprattutto nel testo della prima edizione (è proprio quello che fa questa traduzione), perché solo cosi si possono cogliere le indicazioni per capirla che l'autore vi ha disseminato. Questa traduzione del Pierre Bayle di Feuerbach, la prima in assoluto dell'opera nella sua interezza, contribuisce a confermare - anche grazie alle indicazioni di lettura contenute nella presentazione della curatrice l'immagine di un Feuerbach - filosofo della nonviolenza, che una lettura episodica e parziale dell'opera sembrerebbe invece sconfessare. Con questo lavoro, infatti, si colma una lacuna (le altre opere maggiori del filosofo tedesco sono tutte tradotte in italiano), ma si facilita nello stesso tempo, a chiunque sia interessato ai temi posti dalla conflittualità, non solo agli studiosi, l'accesso a un libro, in questi senso, straordinario. La curatrice del volume, Maria Luisa Barbera, insegna Storia della Storiografia filosofica all'Università di Siena. Nell'ambito della filosofia sette-ottocentesca, che ha particolarmente curato, si è sempre dilettata di studiare i filosofi visti dai filosofi.

Lettre qui semble être plutôt une lettre de diplomatie, qui est toutefois à replacer dans le contexte : le royaume de Naples est depuis près de 20 ans sous domination autrichienne. Les Bourbons d'Espagne reprendront la domination l'année suivante, rendant son indépendant au royaume de Naples. Le titre de duc de Nocera est un titre du royaume de Naples. On joint le brouillon de la lettre de Visconti daté du 2 mai 1733. Le bouillon semble être de la main d'un secrétaire avec des corrections autographes de Visconti. [323]
