Schoenbaum, Emmett; Haver, June; Montgomery, George; Bacon, Lloyd; et al
A VINTAGE PUBLICITY PHOTOGRAPH by EMMETT SCHOENBAUM depicting the cameraman cast and crew on the stage set of 20th Century Fox's "Three Little Girls In Blue" starring JUNE HAVER and GEORGE MONTGOMERY.
Hollywood CA: 20th Century-Fox 1946. 1946. Very good. - An 8-1/8 inch high by 10 inch wide glossy black & white vintage photograph depicting the cast and crew of "Three Little Girls In Blue" on the stage set. June Haver and George Montgomery stand watching a couple kissing at center. Another couple is seated on a park bench at center front as others picnic and stroll along the beach. Others stroll along a boardwalk in the background. A cameraman sits behind his camera stationed on a crane. The director Lloyd Bacon and head cameraman Ernie Palmer are in the foreground. There is minor creasing. Very good. <p>This a vintage publicity photo not a reproduction sent out to newspapers and periodicals of the period. Text from a printed press release mounted with glue on the verso reads: "Backstage with a Roving Cameraman. Probably one of the world's most interesting jobs belongs to 20th Century-Fox's roving cameraman Emmett Schoenbaum. Each day he roams at will from stage to stage and works only when an appropriate picture presents itself. The only stipulation imposed upon him by his employer is to catch his subjects 'off-guard'. At no time is he allowed to pose a picture. These off-stage shots representing a typical day's work in the life of Mr. Schoenbaum should interest the millions of movie fans who never get a chance to see what goes on behind the scenes in a big studio. Emmett gets behind the scenes on the set of 'Three Little Girls In Blue' for this over-all shot of the Atlantic City Boardwalk. June Haver and George Montgomery stand center watch a couple making love. Man wearing a basebal sic cap in foreground is Lloyd Bacon the Director of the picture and to his right is Head Cameraman Ernie Palmer. Notice the two extra players sitting on bench in foreground holding hands - oblivious of the fact that they are entirely out of camera range." The Press release is credited to "Harry Brand Publicity Director 20th Century-Fox". Hollywood, CA: 20th Century-Fox, (1946). unknown

Worcester Massachusetts: Privately Printed 1914. Presumed First Edition First printing. Hardcover. Fair condition. 34 3 pages. Footnote. Most pages uncut but text is only on front of the uncut section. Cover worn and soiled. Cracks at spine hinges. These poems most of which were written during the last month of 1913 and the first month of 1914 have been collected and printed to please the author's mother to whom this book is dedicated. The Photogravures are from the photographs of the original clay models made during that time. There are four illustrations: Portrait of My Father Cast in One Mould The Jester and Mountains of the Moon. They show the first work of this kind the author has ever attempted and the author presents them here owing to the kindly encouragement he has received from America's world-famed sculptor Gutzon Borglum. The contents are: Introduction Dedication Salutation In His House As a Man Soweth Morning Glories Together The Newsboy's Story Music Cast in One Mould Flowers in the Garden John the Orange Man To-Day Man Wants But Little The Jester The Bumble-Bee The Tree and the Leaves The Riddle of Riddles Whence Came You and For the Work's Sake. John Gutzon de la Mothe Borglum March 25 1867 - March 6 1941 was an American sculptor best known for his work on Mount Rushmore. He is also associated with various other public works of art across the U.S. including Stone Mountain in Georgia the statue of Union General Philip Sheridan in Washington D.C. as well as a bust of Abraham Lincoln which was exhibited in the White House by Theodore Roosevelt and which is now held in the United States Capitol crypt in Washington D.C. William Bacon Scofield was born at Hartford Conn.1865-1930. He entered Harvard with the Class of l887 but remained in college less than three years and then attended law school for one year. After leaving college he followed his father's career by entering the newspaper business becoming reporter and later city editor of the Worcester Evening Gazette. In. 1895 he became treasurer of the Worcester Thread Company and in 1903 joined with other Worcester men in forming the Crompton-Thayer Loom Company. After this business was sold out in 1907 Mr. Scofield devoted most of the remainder of his life to writing and- to sculpture. He studied for several years under the well known sculptor Gutzon Borglum and maintained a studio on Front Street. He became a noted artist. He published two books of poems "Verses" in 1914 and "A Forgotten Idyll" in 1921. Much of his best poetry was contributed to Harvard Class reunions and to the local newspapers especially during the period of the late War. He was elected to the American Antiquarian Society in 1927 and His will left trusts funds of nearly one million dollars eventually to benefit several Worcester institutions. He was married December 31 1919 to Myrtis S. Sigourney Harrington who survived him. Privately Printed hardcover

DNB. "The first edition having become so rare a second edition was secretly printed in 1672 which was suppressed. It was again secretly reprinted in 1682 and the publishers were prosecuted. The 1682 edition appears to have been reissued in 1689 with the 1682 imprint" Sweet & Maxwell. Dictionary of National Biography I:836-837.
