The title page is dated <strong>1898</strong> as in all early printings of this volume but the physical characteristics of the binding burgundy cloth gilt elephant medallion Art Nouveau floral spine design and deckled edges indicate a <strong>Scribner's printing from approximately 1899–1900</strong>.</p><p>Bound in deep red cloth with bright gilt spine ornamentation and the classic gilt elephant-head medallion on the front board. Includes deckled page edges crisp typography and the dual swastika good-luck symbols that appeared in Kipling's works prior to WWII.</p><p>Stories include <em>The Phantom 'Rickshaw</em> <em>The Man Who Would Be King</em> <em>My Own True Ghost Story</em> <em>The Strange Ride of Morrowbie Jukes</em> and others.
