‎New York: D. Appleton and Company 1897. Kipling's poetry; This is a Very Good copy of a Later Pinting of the First American Edition first issued a year earlier. Green cloth decorative binding stamped in gilt. Clean text save for an occasional pencil line. 209 pages with six pages of publisher adverts in the rear. Gilt top-edge; others rough-cut. There are two penciled signatures: one erased with the date "August 1897" on the FFEP; another presumed later owner on the front paste-down. There is a newspaper clipping laid into the front which has offset to Page One of the text. The binding is rubbed at the margins in particularly to the corners and the head and foot of the spine. Generally a solid copy but not for the advanced collector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Later Printing. Decorative Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. D. Appleton and Company Hardcover‎

Moderate wear to the board edges and fading to the gold design on the front board and spine very good in good printed dust jacket repeating the floral art nouveau design in gold on the front and spine.
