A collection of three well presented works from celebrated novelist Rudyard Kipling including a first edition of Kipling's autobiography completed by his wife and published posthumously after the author's death. A trio of works written by the celebrated English novelist journalist and poet Rudyard Kipling.Each bound in the publisher's original red cloth. Comprised of the following: 'Just So Stories' the Uniform Edition with the first edition published in 1902. Comprised of a series of short stories aimed at children including 'How the Whale got his Throat' and 'The Crab that Played with the Sea. Wonderfully illustrated by the author throughout. 'Puck of Pook's Hill' published in 1930 with the first edition published in 1906. This entertaining fantasy series is comprised of a collection of short stories each set during different periods of history. Illustrated with twenty plates. 'Something of Myself' the first edition. Kipling's autobiographical work written during the last year of his life and left unfinished after his death. Posthumously published this insightful work was finished by the author's wife. Illustrated with three plates. Collated complete. With an image of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night tipped-in to the front endpaper of 'Puck of Pook's Hill' and a bookplate to 'Something of Myself'. Bound in the publisher's original red cloth. Externally very good with light bumping to the extremities and some rubbing to the joints heavier to 'Just so'. Slight fading and a little discolouration to cloth heavier to 'Puck' and 'Just so'. The odd mark to cloth and fore edge. Bookplate to front paste down 'Something of Myself' and pencil inscription to 'Just so'. Image tipped-in to front endpaper of 'Puck'. Lacking front endpaper to 'Just so'. Internally firmly bound. The Tauchnitz copyright editions of these works published the same year as the first UK and US editions for the publisher's 'Collection of British Authors' series. In the original red cloth bindings. This set offers one anthology of poems and one short-story collection from renowned English writer Rudyard Kipling most notable for 'The Jungle Book' and many short stories including 'The Man Who Would Be King'. 'Just So Stories for Little Children' 1902 is considered a classic amongst children's literature and is also among Kipling's best known works depicting fantastic accounts of how various features of animals came to be. With twenty full pages of illustrations and a folding illustrated plate by the author. 'The Five Nations' 1903 divides the poems into two groups with the first untitled and covering a wide range of subjects and the other titled "Service Songs" which relates mostly to the experiences of British soldiers of the time.  In the original red cloth bindings.
