‎ril. Il romanzo racconta l'avventura di un sedicenne che si innamora perdutamente di una giovane donna sposata a un soldato partito per la guerra. La coppia dovrà sfuggire alle maglie censorie del perbenismo borghese contemporaneo. L'io narrante osserva il mondo adulto sicuro di sé, ma con gli occhi dell'adolescente smodato e impaziente, guidato da tensioni febbrili e impulsi irrazionali. Universalmente noto come il capolavoro di Radiguet, Il diavolo in corpo alla sua uscita nel 1923 - l'editore francese Grasset lo pubblicizzò come "il primo libro di un romanziere di 17 anni" - fu accolto con grande clamore. Dal romanzo sono stati tratti due film, il primo girato da Claude Autant-Lara nel 1947, con la celebre interpretazione di Gerard Philipe, il secondo nel 1986, diretto da Marco Bellocchio.‎

‎br. Scritto dal giovanissimo diciottenne Radiguet e pubblicato due anni prima della sua morte, "Il diavolo in corpo" narra la storia, in parte autobiografica, di un adolescente che scopre l'amore. Ambientato ai tempi della prima guerra mondiale, ha per protagonista un ragazzo che diventa l'amante di una giovane donna, Marthe, poco più grande di lui, promessa sposa di un soldato al fronte, Jacques. È un'iniziazione sentimentale e sessuale febbrile e perturbante, dall'esito tragico. Una passione sondata con sguardo penetrante dall'autore, che scandaglia i contraddittori impulsi dell'adolescenza di fronte al sesso e alla responsabilità dell'età adulta. Il romanzo, che fece scandalo alla sua uscita, ebbe un clamoroso successo come prototipo del bestseller erotico. Diventato un classico della letteratura francese d'inizio Novecento, è stato portato anche sul grande schermo nel film di Claude Autant-Lara con Gérard Philipe (1947) e ha ispirato in misura più libera quello di Marco Bellocchio del 1986.‎

In 2007, the Museum fur Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt is following the example of the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, the Shanghai Art Museum and many other institutions and dedicating a major solo exhibition to his work. The show is an encounter between more than one hundred posters by Gunter Rambow - dating from 1962 to the present - and Richard Meier's museum architecture. - Spine, as usual, with slight crinkles, very fine copy.‎
