brossura Monica è un'adolescente introversa e sensibile, vittima perfetta dell'arroganza di alcuni compagni di classe. Durante l'ultimo anno di liceo viene coinvolta in eventi che minando la sua fiducia negli altri e la sua voglia di vivere. Uscita dal liceo, Monica inizia un lento percorso per riemergere dal baratro in cui la sua vita è sprofondata. Lungo la strada incontrerà persone che la sosterranno, e la aiuteranno a compiere una trasformazione graduale ma ineluttabile. Diventerà una donna nuova, forte e determinata; cambierà nella personalità ma anche nell'aspetto fisico, fino ad arrivare a interpretare il ruolo, che mai avrebbe immaginato adatto a sé, della dominatrice. Si trasformerà in Lady Mayra, mentre il pensiero della vendetta maturerà e prenderà forma nella sua mente. Monica impiegherà anni a progettare un piano per incastrare quegli ex compagni che le hanno fatto del male e punirli facendo provare loro la stessa umiliazione da lei sperimentata al liceo. Messi nella condizione di dominati, gli ex compagni impareranno, forse, la lezione. Lady Mayra si dimostrerà comunque migliore di loro, e la vendetta si trasformerà in giustizia, subito prima che Monica esca di scena.

Prima edizione completa di questo singolare poema satirico giocoso sui più famosi infortuni coniugali dei mariti. Nella Corneide l'autore si trasferisce oniricamente in un immaginario paese, ai cui lidi approdano grandi torme di cornuti di tutta la terra, parificati, umili e potenti, dalla comune condizione. Con intonazioni e movenze parodisticamente dantesche è descritto l'incontro con Euripide, che gli sarà da guida in questo nuovo campo eliso, primo di una lunga galleria di cocus a partire dall'antichità classica, offrendo spunto a vicende boccacesche imperniate sui temi dell'insaziabilità femminile e degli adulteri più ingegnosi. Il D. Gamerra inserisce spunti seri ed autobiografici, lettere di lode inviategli da personaggi famosi (dal Voltaire a Federico il Grande, all'amico Calzabigi) e anche interessanti aneddoti contemporanei di vita sociale e letteraria. (Codice AN/2390) Sette volumi in 8° (20x13cm), (2)501, 528, 534, 510, 446, 413, 426 pp. Famoso poema burlesco che canta le sorti dei cornuti celebri. Seconda edizione, la prima completa di tutti i 71 canti (la prima ne conteneva 6 soltanto) apparsa senza dati editoriali. Due tavole in rame al primo volume: ritratto dell'autore all'antiporta e frontespizio allegorico, opera di F.M.Berio, Gio. e Pompeo Lapi. Il Gamerra, abate livornese (1743-1803), poi ufficiale, fu amico e protetto di Metastasio. In seguito si scusò del suo poema con Pio VI: "Facétie trop prolongée et fastidieuse sur les maris infortunés...". Cfr. Con simbolico e significativo frontespizio figurato e 6 tavole fuori testo a piena pagina, bellissime come esecuzione e di soggetto in tema con il titolo, incisi all'acquaforte. Legatura 800.sca in mezzo vitello biondo, dorso a nervi con titolo oro. Contiene 6 Canti di soggetto erotico-comico, impressi in carattere tondo, ognuno preceduto dall' Argomento in caratt. corsivo. Prima edizione. Nel 1781 apparve una seconda edizione, assai accresciuta. Il "Dottor Cornografo" nasconde l'identità del livornese Giovanni da Gamerra (1743-1803), fecondo letterato e scrittore. Il presente poema, che l'autore volle giustificare come testo di ironia morale, fu apprezzato da Voltaire per i "jolis vers et la parfaite connaissance de l'antiquité et des moeurs modernes". Nel 1793 il Gamerra chiese perdono a Pio VI del giovanile errore della "Corneide", scusandosi nella presentazione di altri suoi poemi. Opera veramente insolita sul mercato antiquario. (Esemplare con piccolo restauro nel margine bianco inferiore dei primi due fogli).. Manca a varie bibliografie, tra le quali quella letteraria di Gamba. Diz- Bompiani-Autori, II, p.19; Opere II, 441.
