Sia che affronti, in maniera radicale, tematiche supreme come il dolore o la felicità, sia che rimoduli una figura cruciale della scrittura letteraria come l'ossimoro, a cui conferisce un nuovo e inconfondibile spessore ideologico, sia che dal cuore stesso della sua educazione classicistica liberi le cadenze assolute della lirica moderna, esperienza separata, diversa dalla precedente, sia che testimoni nella commistione di stili delle "Operette morali" l'impossibilità del tragico nel mondo contemporaneo, la parola di Leopardi, del poeta-filosofo, risuona sempre con l'intensità rivoluzionaria e preveggente che ne fa il primo, grande classico italiano della modernità.

Contains amusing poems about student life in the university city of Jena in the late 19th century. Entirely in German. The Institut Tilly was a school established in 1902 in Berlin by Australian William Henry Till 1860-1935 to provide immersive training in German. His property was confiscated in 1914 at the beginning of World War One. After the war he taught English and phonetics at Columbis University. Very scarce.
