‎Stunden der Andacht für Israeliten [VOLUME 2 OF 4] [FIRST EDITION] zur Beförderung religiösen Lebens und häuslicher Gottesverehrung ; zweiter Band‎

‎FIRST EDITION. EXTREMELY RARE! Volume 2 out of 4 volume book on prayer and theology that was quite popular in its time. It was written, at first anonymously, by early Jewish reformer Samson Wolf Rosenfeld. The book is a Jewish adaptation of the similarly-titled Christian book "Stunden der Andacht zur Beförderung wahren Christenthums und häuslicher Gottesverehrung" by the German author Heinrich Zschokke. Like the original, this adaptation was written in order to propagate religious rationalism and reform religion in the spirit of the European enlightenment. We might be in possession of a more complete set; inquire with us for further details. 190x120mm. VIII+464 pages. Marbled quarter leather hardcover with gilt lettering and decoration on spine. Cover slightly worn. Cover edges slightly bumped. Cover corners bumped. Spine detached. Spine bumped and faded. Pages slightly yellowing. [SUMMARY]: Save for some external wear, this book, a work central to the Jewish reform movement, is internally in good condition.‎
