1st edition. Period half leather boards, 4to, 141 leaves. In Hebrew. Printed partially on blue paper. Joseph ben Meir Teomim (17271792) was a Galician rabbi born at Lemberg. While still young he succeeded his father in the position of preacher and rabbinical instructor in the yeshivah of Lemberg. Later he went to Berlin, where he stayed several years in the bet ha-midrash of Daniel Itzig. Then he resumed his former position at Lemberg, and in 1782 was appointed rabbi at Frankfurt an der Oder, where he remained until his death. He was buried in the Jewish cemetery at Frankfurt/Oder. On joint le fac-similé d'une lettre autographe signée des frères Tharaud adressée à Marcelle Lesage (4 p. in-12 avec enveloppe, s.l., 2 mai 1926), concernant l'ouvrage : "dans les pages que nous vous envoyons, nous racontons comment nous avons abordé et exploré un sujet, que la littérature, en France, n'avait ni effleuré ni défloré. Cela d'ailleurs, nous l'avons dit, ça et là, dans nos livres. Mais peut-on demander à un lecteur même bienveillant de rassembler des indications éparses ? Les voici réunies, Madame, pour Le Sage et ses amis". Ex-libris du bibliophile lyonnais William Vincens Bouguereau. En bel état.
