Berlin Escape in Intrigue Magazine Volume 1 Issue 2 November 1965
First US Softcover issued without a D/W. A single issue of the popular US espionage magazine which features Berlin Escape originally called The Living Daylights by Ian Fleming. The Living Daylights was first published in book format a year later in Octopussy and the Living Daylights but it first saw the light of day in The Sunday Times magazine in 1962; the US version Berlin Escape was published as a single story in Argosy magazine a little later so this is by no means the first appearance of the Bond short story. Softcover pictorial paper wrappers. Occasional b/w illustrations. Uniform tanning to the pages this is a much better copy than normally seen with clean and tight contents. Overall a decent copy of this highly uncommon Fleming-related item of particular interest to the Bond completist. Photographs/scans available upon request. paperback

Casino Royale. UNUSED.; The LIMITED SPECIAL BENTLEY 60th Anniversary Edition
London: Bentley 007 / Vintage Books. 2013. First Edition Thus; First Printing. Hardcover. As New in No Dust Jacket dust jacket. MINT Copy. The 60th ANNIVERSARY LIMITED EDITION of the publication of the original Casino Royale in 1953 of 500 copies only produced by Bentley Motors. UNUSED - still in it's original packaging as originally sent. Also with the original paper label stating "This copy has Number GG1" on the paper sleeve/packing. This apparently stands for "Goodwill Gift 1". The very FIRST copy put aside for a Special customer. However to check I opened the package very very carefully and the metal limitation marque with Ian Fleming's impressed signature which reflects the plate you would find on a Bentley engine says '441'. I then replaced everything as found As New with the paper sleeve fastened by the GG1 limitation label within a supporting foam frame and paper packaging set in it's own cardboard box printed with stitching motif. So I can only assume this copy was gifted to someone of importance - but I have no idea to whom The book itself is housed in a black deluxe leather clamshell box measuring c. 13.5" x 11". The case and cover are bound in the same BELUGA LEATHER used by Bentley for their luxury interiors. It features the iconic double stitching and signature winged Bentley logo. The trademark knurling adorns the book's metal spine inspired by the cars' famous steel tread plate. Removing the book from the tray reveals a hidden compartment containing two packs of bespoke Bentley branded playing cards housed in a single leather case. The striking red/black colouring is a nod to the gambling plot of the novel where Bond attempts to bankrupt Le Chiffre the paymaster for the Russian secret service. The Bentley is James Bond's car of choice in the original novels and Ian Fleming was a great admirer of the 'Bentley Boys' seduced by their adventures on the racing track in particular their victories at Le Mans from 1927-30. Fleming was a close friend of engineer Amherst Villiers who designed the famous supercharger for the 'Blower' Bentley. This iconic edition captures both the Bentley brand and the 'intrigue' of the James Bond Books. The book itself features the iconic double silver stitching and signature winged Bentley logo. It also has a silk ribbon marker bound in and has brush style illustrations by award-winning artist Damian Gascoigne. Original price was £750.00. Images shown of the packaging are of this copy - other images are stock photos as I wasn't going to disturb the box any further - only did so to check the 'number plate' and to check the book was actually inside! See Images.; James Bond; Thick 4to 9.5" - 11" tall . Bentley 007 / Vintage Books, hardcover

For Your Eyes Only" serialisation in Weekend
London 1960. For Your Eyes Only" serialisation in Weekend London: Associated Newspapers May 18-22 1960. First Edition. Very Good condition 'paper magazine' from May 18th 1960. "WEEKEND" was a weekly paper published by Associated Newspapers in the 50's and 60's. This edition is a special one as includes the first episode of a serialised 'New ' as of Spring 1960 Ian Fleming James Bond Story 'For Your Eyes Only'.the Book of short stories by Ian Fleming containing 'For Your Eyes only' had been published approximately 4 weeks earlier in April 1960. The Paper is in fantastic condition given that it is over 60 years old; it has obvious light discolouration of paper as to be expected with newsprint but has no significant bends/creases to paper. The serialisation contained a superb colour illustration by Oliver Brabbins of a blonde in a yellow dress wearing a pearl necklace looking down on another woman who appears to have been shot or injured to the head next door to an prostrate man presumably also shot: "Judy's world was so safe. until the strangers called with half a million dollars - and two ugly blazing guns.". Rare. I have been collecting Fleming and Bondiana and have never encountered this newspaper before. One for the Fleming completist. Photographs/scans available upon request. unknown

James Bond: Hero of Death and Destruction by James M Wall
1965. Nashville Tenn: Christian Advocate Magazine - July 15 1965. This Magazine was the official organ of the Methodist Church in the USA. A hard-hitting critical article about James Bond following the author's visit to see Goldfinger at the cinema. A 2-page article. He argues that James Bond is a man who "acts out the latent homosexual fantasies of our male culture.he is the carrier of brutality and sadism the antithesis of love which. is the essence of life. .his popularity suggests a sickness in a nation's soul which can only be described as a loss of the ability to love".
