Mild foxing here and there throughout both volumes. The author was a poet essayist and translator a major figure of French Romanticism wikipedia. He spent a year in 1842 wondering in Egypt most of volume one then on to Beirut and Constantinople volume two. Originally published in 1846 as Voyage to the Orient.
