There is a small puncture mark to the back strip approximately 2 inches from the lower edge. Age toning of the text block edges and pages with fine scattered foxing to the text block edges. Offset tanning and faint foxing to the end pages and results of tape and seen to the end pages as well. Previous owners details to the free front end page. The dustwrapper � like the book underneath � is showing age and use. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges � with the front fold over panel almost completely come away from the rest of the dustwrapper � a previous owner has tried to support this with tape � the tape still visible. Fading rubbing and marking of the dustwrapper with some holes present to the back strip. A previous owner has used tape to both and the resultant mess is visible. Bumping of the book corners with a little rubbing of the lower book edges scattered foxing to the book panels. Age toning to the text block edges and pages with foxing to the top text block edges. Very faint offset tanning and foxing to the end pages. Fading to the back strip. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. The top edge shows ships tears and creasing and the lower edge is a little rubbed. Rubbing of the dustwrapper panels and sunning and staining of the back strip. Fredrika Bremer (1801-1865), Swedish writer and feminist, was from Finland. Her novels of everyday life include: The H Family (1829), The President's Daughters (1834), and The Home (1839), offered herein the first Dutch edition. She recorded her impressions of travel in America (1849-51) in Homes in the New World (1853). Her later novels advocate the emancipation of woman.
