Early ownership signature of S. a. C. Montclair N. J. We believe the binding to be a Heinemann remainer binding without the gilt stamping on the upper cover. A famous journey by an intrepid woman traveler. "The author travelled to Lhasa from China in 1917 lived in Lhasa for two months disguised as a beggar in 1923-24 and returned to France in 1925.
