A twelve volume set of illustrated books on Great Britain with three volumes in original dustwrappers. Part of the Beautiful Britain series. With duplicate copies in various editions of several works. With watercolours by the likes of E. W. Haslehust the set offers ornate depictions and descriptions of several counties cities and towns which were deemed appropriately picturesque for the series including Cambridge Wincheser and Bath. As such there are colour plates of the likes of Pulteney Bridge Winchester Catheral and Peterhouse College places that were largely untouched by the conflicts and turmoil of the last centuries. Internally the pages are generally firmly bound and largely bright and clean although there are instances of spotting throughout.
