Un leggerissimo ed ininfluente alone al margine superiore delle ultime carte della seconda opera ma nel complesso esemplare in buone-ottimecondizioni di conservazione. Antica firma di appartenenza al frontespizio della prima opera del cartografo maceratese Antonio Filippo Tartufari. Due prime rare edizioni a carattere oftalmologico. Lo studio di Boerhaave, celeberrimo medico, chimico e botanico olandese (Voorhout, 31 dicembre 1668 – Leida, 23 settembre 1738) considerato come l’ideatore delle moderne strutture ospedaliere, sarebbe una seconda edizione, dopo la prima del 1748, ma che presenta per la prima volta l’importante aggiunta della “Dissertatio anatomica de tunica oculi choroidea” di Sigismundus Joannes Leinecker. Le due opere si presentano con frontespizio proprio.La prima opera oltre a descrivere l’anatomia e fisiologia dell’occhio ne descrive anche varie patologie come oftalmia, congiuntivite, cecità notturna, miopia, presbiopia e allucinazioni. L’autore riprende e difende le nuove teorie elaborate sulla natura e posizione di cataratta elaborate da Brisseau (1631-1717) e il Maître Jean (1650-1730), dando supporto teorie con esperimenti ideati direttamente da Boerhaave. Due capitoli descrivono l’uso di vari strumenti oftalmologici. La tavola fuori testo descrive in 22 figure il funzionamento dell’occhio confrontando una visione corretta ed errata dell’occhio. La seconda opera è invece la prima edizione dello studio del noto medico allievo del grande Lorenz Heister, Sigismundus Joannes Leinecker (1724-1788) nella quale l’autore descrive la natura e funzione della coroide e contiene numerose importanti intuizioni sulla fisiologia dell’occhio.
