He Was Born In Chicago Illinois. Meyerhoff Founded His Own Agency Arthur Meyerhoff Associates In 1932 After Persuading The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company That He Could Arrange For Newspapers To Place Advertisements For Wrigley Chewing Gum On Their Comic Pages. He Then Got The Newspapers To Agree To The Idea. During World War Ii Philip K. Wrigley Was In Charge Both Of The Wrigley Company And The Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball Club. Wrigley Decided To Found The All-American Girls Professional Baseball League As A Promotional Sideline To Maintain Interest In Baseball As The Military Draft Was Depleting Major League Rosters Of First-Line Players. He Approached Other Major League Team Owners But The Idea Was Not Well Received. Then Four Non-Major League Cities Were Selected That Were In Close Proximity To The Aagpbl Headquarters In Chicago And Close To Each Other: Rockford Of Illinois South Bend Of Indiana And Racine And Kenosha Of Wisconsin. Meyerhoff Was Given The Responsibility Of Coordinating Operations With City Officials And Civic Leaders In The Communities As Well As A Projected Budget Was Developed. In 1943 The League Made An Auspicious Debut But After The 1944 Season Wrigley Sold The Aagpbl To Meyerhoff. It Was Under Meyerhoff Management That Expansion To Six Teams As Well As The Publicity Campaign Of The Aagpbl Reached Its Peak. He Re-Organized The League So That Each Franchise Would Be Governed Through A League Board Of Directors With Representatives From Each Franchise. Each Club Now Had A Voice In The Adoption Of Rules And Regulations And The Direction Of The Sport. All Assets Were Turned Over To The New Directors And Wrigley Was No Longer Involved With The League. The Aagpbl Excelled In Attendance And Performing During The 1948 Season When 10 Teams Attracted 910000 Paid Fans. Meyerhoff Also Organized Several Companies Outside His Advertising Agency To Develop New Products. One Company He Owned Developed Pam A Substitute For Fats Or Oils That Can Be Sprayed On Pots And Pans. In The Mid-1950S When Meyerhoff Was Looking For A Side Business He Advertised For Ideas And Heard From Two Chemists Who Had Developed Something Like A Cooking Spray. First Meyerhoff Had The Formula Perfected So It Could Be Sprayed; Then He Campaigned For Grocers To Shelve Pam In The Baking Aisle With The Flours Not The Aerosol Section Next To Insecticides And Hair Spray. The Name Pam Is An Initialism For "Product Of Arthur Meyerhoff. In The 1960S Meyerhoff Wrote His Book The Strategy Of Persuasion Which Reflects His Point Of Views That The United States Information Agency Should Get Out Of The News Business And Into The Business Of Selling Democracy Abroad. L'Aut. fu ministro della guerra nel 1878, collaboratore della Rivista militare, su cui pubblicò alcuni scritti, e del fratello Carlo, nel redigere gli Studi topografici strategici dell'Italia (cfr. Sticca, Gli scrittori militari italiani, p.291). In questo opuscolo denunciava un cambiamento di tendenza dell'economia: in seguito alla crisi finanziaria "tutte le forze si sono rivolte alla produzione di ricchezza e questa da mezzo per ottenere benessere della società, è divenuta scopo finale..."(p.7), per cui erano state distolte finanze alla difesa, a danno dei più deboli e così proponeva una riforma delle Forze Armate.

Analisi sulla necessita' di costituire un esercito nazionale che sappia fare fronte elle esigenze di un paese di 28 milioni di abitanti, e considerazioni sulla politica estera. Mezzacapo (Trapani, 1814 - Roma, 1885) fu generale e patriota. Capitano dell'esercito borbonico, fu in esilio a Malta e nel regno sabaudo. Entro' a far parte dell'esercito piemontese, organizzando la divisione 'Mezzacapo' che era composta da volontari provenienti dalla Romagna e dalle Marche. Partecipo' nel 1860 alla spedizione nel Regno delle due Sicilie e divenne ministro della guerra durante i primi due governi Depretis.

Ist Life Guards Barracks Hyde Paark 24 May 1831. One page 12mo good condition. "Mr Este presents his best compliments to Mr Pettigrew has just received his king invitation and is extremely sorry he cannot have the pleasure of attending his conversazione on Wednesday evening - in consequence of a previous engagement." See ImageNote: Biography in Plarr’s Lives of the Fellows Royal College of Surgeons:"He then came under the notice of Nelson to whom he acted as a private secretary. In July 1804 Este had collected letters detained at Gibraltar and Port Mahon and forwarded them to Nelson then off Toulon for which he was thanked by Nelson in a letter headed "Victory August 3rd 1804". In this letter Nelson said "I hope you left your worthy father well." In letters dated Aug 20th and Sept 16th Este informed Nelson of Lock's death to which Nelson replied from the Victory under date of Oct 4th 1804. Este then went on board the Victory and later supplied an important account of Nelson his diminishing vision in one eye his precarious health and his table talk as to his future. On Nov 4th Nelson sent Este home on board the Termagant Captain Pettet with despatches to the Admiralty and included a note to H Chamberlain agent for the packets at Lisbon to forward Este should the Termagant be delayed by quarantine. Este had taken with him to the Victory presents of English porter tongues Bayonne hams India pickles etc. A large portion of these Nelson sent to the Termagant.Nelson had from June 3rd 1803 when he boarded the Victory watched the French fleet off Toulon from time to time withdrawing to Maddalena Sardinia to refit. The French Admiral La Touche Tréville having died was succeeded by Villeneuve who was ordered by Napoleon to undertake the union of the whole naval strength of France and Spain. Villeneuve managed to get out of Toulon and pass the Straits of Gibraltar whilst Nelson was away at Maddalena. From May to August Nelson was on the voyage to the West Indies and back. Nelson had been at Merton from Aug 19th to Sept 2nd 1805 when he learnt of the concentration of the French and Spanish Fleet in Cadiz harbour and he went at once to the Admiralty. There follows a passage in the Scott Recollections:"At the last Council the very day previous to Lord Nelson's departure he hoisted his flag on 14 Sept for Trafalgar Dr Scott waited with Mr Este the mutual friend of the Admiral and himself in a private room till the Council broke up. On quitting the Council Lord Nelson came up to them ordered Dr Scott to get ready to join him that night at Merton and said to Mr Este taking leave: 'I have just settled your business with Lord Liverpool really Baron Hawkesbury Home Secretary Leader in the House of Lords not 2nd Lord Liverpool until 1808 - I am now going to the Admiralty and I shall order you a passage on board Captain Bolton's frigate. You will join me with Bolton in six weeks.' Besides Dr Scott as private secretary and interpreter with a salary of £100 per annum Mr Este was to have been one of six young men all civilians with Commissions from the Foreign Office who were to assist in the arduous political negotiations which the Admiral anticipated."After the death of Nelson Este returned to military duty was promoted Surgeon to the 1st Life Guards in 1812" Ist Life Guards Barracks | Hyde Paark, 24 May 1831 unknown
