‎Einzige Ausgabe. - Absicht der Schrift war es, den theoretischen Unterricht der Artillerie anschaulicher zu machen. Es wird "zu beschreiben versucht, auf welche Weise mit Geschossen in verkleinertem Maßstabe, welche im Wesentlichen die Eigenschaften der sie darstellenden wirklichen Geschosse besitzen, in dem Raume einiger Kubikfuße geschossen und geworfen, das Sprengen der in Bewegung begriffenen Hohlgeschosse vorgenommen und die Gesetze der rotirenden Geschosse dargestellt werden können" (Vorwort). Die Tafeln zeigen neben den Vorrichtungen (Schiess- u. Rotationsapparat, Apparaten für Achsdrehung u. -versetzung) auch unterschiedliche Flugbahnen. - Damian Ludwig (1804-1871) trat als Jugendlicher in die badische Artillerie ein, wurde 1834 Hauptmann, 1850 Kommandeur der Artillerie-Brigade u. 1851 Oberst. Schon vor seiner Zeit als badischer Kriegsminister (1854-1868) setzte er sich immer für Neuerungen und Verbesserungen im Artilleriewesen ein. - Interessanter Beitrag zur Simulation im militärischen Bereich.<br> Weech: Bad.
