‎The Ford Dealers News - For All Ford and Fordson Dealers in the World, January (Jan.) 29, 1927, Vol. 12 No. 3 - Help With Used Car Problems‎

‎46 pages. Not connected with the Ford Motor Company. Interesting cover illustration claims "Half the country frozen, the other half mud holes". Main article discusses "The Used Car Problem". Article on the successful use of Fordson tractors to move 30,000 yards of dirt during construction of the State of Washington Administration Building. High cost of liability insurance in Massachusetts results in horses being brought back into service. Fordson Equipment News - article with nine great illustrations of vintage equipment; Eight New Jersey dealers experiment with radio advertising; Four samples of direct mail pieces promoting Ford dealer service; Logging contractor E.S. Friend & Son of Columbus, Ohio explains the savings Fordson brought to his operation by eliminating the use of horses; Fascinating illustration and article describe large saw blade which may be attached to the front of Fordson tractors courtesy of V.L. Holt & Co. of Portland, Oregon. Two-pages of "Used Car Appraisals for February 1927"; Many great vintage ads for equipment and parts, our favorite being the Rex Rumble Seat ad on the back cover which shows a couple of spunky young couples in car being addressed by a cop. Average wear. Minimal markings. A worthy copy of this nice Ford collectible. 13.5" x 10.2" Magazine‎

‎Problems of Capital Formation in Underdeveloped Countries‎

‎Basil Blackwell Sans date. Cet ouvrage de Ragnar Nurkse publié en 1953 examine les obstacles à la formation de capital dans les pays sous-développés. ‎Sudbury Suffolk Trustees Savings Bank / DODD, Cyril .:‎

‎Sudbury Suffolk Trustees Savings Bank Enquiry. Minutes Of Proceedings And Notes Of Evidence Taken At The Enquiry Into The Affairs Of The Sudbury Trustee Savings Bank Before Cyril Dodd Esq. Q.C. M.P.‎

‎London: Printed For her Majesty's Stationery Office By Eyre And Spottiswoode. 1894 . The original Victorian enquiry. pp.69 . Foolscap; 13.0" x 8.25" . Blue paper covers with printed title edges chipped. Clean text throughout. "Referenced by: Ford Select List 1833-1899 p.29 "Henry Cronin Pratt was a highly regarded citizen. He was actuary of the Sudbury Savings Bank. He was also manager and traveller for wine merchant Mrs Adams. He was a prominent freemason of the Sudbury Suffolk Lodge Secretary of the Gas Company distributor of Stamps and manager of a printing Business. He was also a leading conservative figure. He began the simplest of frauds at the bank. A depositor would come into the bank to withdraw funds say 50 and Henry would write in the depositors pass book that they had withdrawn 50 but in the corresponding bank ledger he would write say 80 and pocket the difference. On the 24th October 1893 a Mr. Jackson came to inspect the bank records so he fled. It transpired the Henry Cronin over the years had stolen 17000 around 1000000 today. Which amounted to over half of the banks assets. The town was shocked and angry and frightened for the loss of their savings and the story made headline news. However fortunately for the people of Sudbury the towns savings bank was somewhat different. The unsuspecting trustees of the bank all very honourable and worldly men had no idea they were liable. Of the 7 trustees 4 were members of the Sudbury Suffolk Masonic Lodge and 3 were Vicars. They were liable for paying back the shortfall. - See: The Rector and the Rogue: A Victorian Melodrama. By Peter Thorogood 2009. London: Printed For her Majesty's Stationery Office, By Eyre And Spottiswoode... 1894 . unknown‎
