brossura "Oggigiorno ha senso parlare di galateo? In una delle epoche più maleducate della storia, certamente sì! Come una grammatica del comportamento, è la traccia da cui partire per edificare buoni rapporti con i nostri simili. In un mondo sempre più privo di regole, di etica e di giustizia che ha portato alla realtà che noi tutti stiamo vivendo, qualche riflessione sull'importanza del termine rispetto andrebbe fatta". In queste poche righe d'introduzione c'è la sintesi estrema di un libro come il galateo che, secolo dopo secolo, non abbandona il suo ruolo di guida al comportamento, declinato a ogni epoca. In questo caso Elisa Volta compone un libretto pieno di spunti veloci, adatto ai più giovani per avere un primo contatto con le "buone maniere", ma adatto, allo stesso tempo, a lettori di ogni età, alla ricerca di nuovi codici di comportamento. br. Sarebbe ben arduo sperare di rintracciare in qualche museo alcuni dei reperti descritti in questo libro. Perché? È semplice: perché... non esistono o non sono mai esistiti. Almeno 'ufficialmente'. Questo lavoro vorrebbe, quindi, colmare tale lacuna e dovrebbe essere inteso come un vero e proprio manuale di "Archeologia eretica", indispensabile a tutti quei ricercatori dell'ignoto che vogliono affrontare uno studio sperimentale sulle "possibili tecnologie antiche", con l'indispensabile apertura mentale necessaria a intraprendere una strada irta di ostacoli, ma soprattutto nel pieno rispetto dell'ortodossia scientifica. L'Autore ha tentato di ricostruire impossibili oggetti, basandosi in alcuni casi su testi biblici, in altri su testimonianze storiche e in qualche caso facendo "atto di fede" nei confronti di qualche studioso del passato che ha sostenuto di averli visti o di averli realizzati egli stesso. Pila di Baghdad? Arca dell'Alleanza? Lumi eterni? Bussola Caduceo? Specchi ustori? Urim e Tummin? Lente di Layard? Sono degli oggetti "impossibili"... ma non per tutti e, seguendo le indicazioni fornite in questo libro, anche voi riuscirete a realizzarli facilmente!

Prosegue nel castello di Csejthe dove la 'Contessa sanguinaria' Erzsébet Bathory assassinò decine e decine di innocenti fanciulle per bagnarsi nel loro rosso fluido vitale alla ricerca di un'eternità che invece la condusse ad essere murata viva. Poi andremo nel bosco in cui visse e compì sanguinosi eccidi Elly Kedward, la 'Strega di Blair'. 'Vampira' realmente vissuta alla fine del XVIII secolo. Il nome di Gilles de Rais non vi dice nulla? Le sue folli gesta, le sue violenze su innocenti fanciulli compiute nei castelli in cui celebrava anche cerimonie 'sataniche' ispirarono Perrault per la stesura della celebre favola 'Barbablù'. Ma il vostro 'viaggio' non termina certo qui, poiché vi attendono altre 'odissee di sangue', qualche interessante esperimento sul tema e un'interpretazione 'scetticamente psicologica' dell'umana follia.
