Chemise légèrement salie, sinon bel exemplaire bien complet de toutes les planches. Quelques planches en couleurs, la majorité monochromes offrant un vaste panorama déléments décoratifs. 60 planches, 60 thématiques différentes classées par ordre alphabétique: abri, agrafe, anneau, bijou vitrail, voussure darc dans le style Art nouveau. Les planches en couleurs sont notamment illustrées de céramique, dun décor champêtre, dune tenture murale, de devantures de magasins...Joseph René Binet, né le 14 octobre 1861 à Chaumont (Yonne), et mort le 23 juillet 1911 à Ouchy (Lausanne, Suisse), est un architecte, décorateur, peintre et théoricien de l'art français. Il a réalisé la Porte monumentale, place de la Concorde, pour l'Exposition universelle de 1900 à Paris, et la reconstruction des magasins du Printemps. Dans cet ouvrage "Esquisses décoratives", il expose sa démarche inspirée du "Traité des couleurs" de Goethe et des travaux du biologiste allemand Ernst Haeckel. Et selon Roger Marx, René Binet sinspire aussi de lOrient entre autre dans sa porte de lExposition universelle de 1900.‎

Protagonista della mostra e del presenta catalogo è il libro, oggetto che, nel corso del XX secolo, è stato in grado di trascendere la propria funzione di contenitore di parole "ordinate" dotate di un significato, per affermarsi come opera d'arte. Un contesto in cui l'elemento visivo non è più necessariamente subordinato a quello testuale. È senza dubbio l'avanguardia futurista l'artefice principale di questa rivoluzione tipografica, in grado di trasformare l'essenza del volume. Non mancano in mostra alcuni dei testi sacri e dei manifesti programmatici del movimento. E' il caso de La ricostruzione futurista dell'universo firmato da Giacomo Balla (1871-1958) e Fortunato Depero (1892-1960) o de La sintesi futurista della guerra (1914) di Carlo Carrà (1881-1966) testo impregnato di quello spirito eroico e ribelle che caratterizza l'intera poetica futuristia, totalmente proiettata nell'azione e nel futuro. "<br>Filippo Tommaso Marinetti (1876-1944), autore di cui si incontra Zang tumb tuuum: Adrianopoli 1912: parole in libertà, ha un ruolo fondamentale nel processo di liberazione della parola dai vincoli della tradizione e dalle catene sintattiche che la imprigionano. Le parole in libertà, le tavole parolibere, la variazione dei caratteri e degli inchiostri sono l'emblema di questa emancipazione. Ampio spazio viene naturalmente riservato dai curatori a Fortunato Depero, autore di Depero futurista - Libro imbullonato, realizzato in collaborazione con la Dinamo di Fedele Azari, ideatore della particolare rilegatura con bulloni di alluminio. Quest'opera così innovativa, in grado di valorizzare il libro come oggetto estetico, è frutto della grande capacità comunicativa e creativa di Depero e della sua attenzione nei confronti dell'universo pubblicitario. Ancora più in là si spinge Tullio d'Albisola che in Parole in libertà tattili termiche futuriste olfattive (1932) (con parole di Marinetti) o in L'Angurialirica sostituisce la carta con lamine di ferro-stagno litografate. La lito-latta segna l'apice della rivoluzione tipografica futurista che, in nome della tecnica e del progresso industriale, abbandona il più tradizionale materiale cartaceo per creare nuovi effetti visivi e luminosi in grado di coinvolgere tutti i sensi.‎

Maar je ziet ook de vele sporen en de littekens van de oorlog die net voorbij is, met daarbij ook de fameuze Duitse Atlantikwall.
