Der Architekt Simón Vélez, geboren 1959 in Kolumbien, hat die Vorteile dieses Werkstoffs erkannt und in eine Vielzahl von Gebäuden umgesetzt. Sein jüngstes Werk, der Pavillon der ZERI-Foundation auf der Expo 2000 in Hannover - mit einem Durchmesser von 40 Metern und einer Höhe von 17 Metern eine der größten Bambusstrukturen der Welt - wird ausführlich vorgestellt. Auch Architekten wie Buckminster Fuller, Frei Otto, Renzo Piano, Shoei Yoh oder Arata Isozaki experimentierten mit Bambus. Februar 1949 in Manizales) ist ein kolumbianischer Architekt. Von 1968 bis 1975 absolvierte er an der Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá ein Architektur- und Kunststudium. Seit Mitte der 1980er verwendet er Bambus als Baustoff. Er war eingeladen vom Vitra Design Museum und Centre Georges Pompidou. Zur EXPO 2000 entwarf Vélez den ZERI Pavillon (zero emission research initiative) mit 40 Metern Durchmesser und 17 Metern Höhe. Er wird als ?Papst der Bambusarchitektur? bezeichnet. Books in parts are works which were published piecemeal (mainly in the 19th century) over a period of months or years. Each unit usually having a separate magazine-like cover. This method of publishing benefited the publisher as it was thought that the price of a weekly or monthly part at one shilling or a quarter was affordable to a wider readership than the price of pound sterling or $ 5.00 for a bound volume. Though this particular set was very costly at $ 1.00 for each part! Since they were meant to be bound by the purchaser, very few have survived into our present era. This set is extremely scarce in parts format. A wonderful artifact of the World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago: 1893. This edition apparently not in Arents (1957). RARE. **PRICE JUST REDUCED!
