Brossura editoriale illustrata, dorso anticamente ed abilemente rifatto dello stesso colore della brossura e per il resto buono stato di conservazione. Prima rara edizione di questa guida di Chicago che contiene oltre una descrizione del viaggio da intraprendere (con costi, orari, hotel, ristoranti, mezzi di trasporto, monumenti da visitare lungo il tragitto) per andare da Geova, attraverso New York fino a Chicago e visitare i luoghi "Colombiani" e l'esposizione Colombiana di Chicago, contiene due brevi capitoli dedicati il primo alla descrizione del porto di Genova e il secondo alla città di Genova (20 pagine). Segue una breve descrizione di New York con una tavola che a doppia pagina riproduce una veduta aerea della "Grande Mela" così come appariva alla fine del XX secolo. Segue la descrizione di Chicago e della celebre "Columbian Exposition". Prima edizione, non comune.

Catalogue of a hoax Ibsen exhbition mounted in 1956 by some exuberant Oxford undergraduates. According to a small press cutting laid in the exhibition attracted over 100 visitors and featured "a discussion of Ibsen by four experts tape recorded along with guttural sounds recognized as belonging to Ibsen's voice.". Wrappers a little duststained small mark to front inside wrapper otherwise Good. Laid in is an interesting 4 pp manuscript letter dated 26th March 1957 from one of the exhibition organizers Robert Nelson of Ruthven Coldstream Berwickshire to the distinguished collector of literary forgeries Stuart B. Arnold Rattenbury - 127 Kenilworth Court Lower Richmond Road SW15 London . For New Year 1971. 16pp. 16mo. Stapled. One minor manuscript correction. Aged and worn in lightly-stained card covers carrying six Bewick woodcuts in black with text lengthwise and upwards in red. The insides of the covers are red in colour and on the front inside cover is written 'love from Sim & Arnold'. Whether the hand is Rattenbury's or his wife's is not clear. Fourteen poems from 'Considering K 279 to K 284' to 'Koechel's Adoration'. John Lucas in his Guardian obituary 30 July 2007 singles out the present item as Rattenbury's finest poetic achievement: 'As a poet Arnold thought naturally in sequences and possibly the finest of these is Mozart Pieces a series of sonnets which began life in the early 1970s and which he went on adding to for the rest of his life.' New York 1849. 4pp. Minor creasing to edges. Near fine. Promoting "the taste for the Fine Arts" this small pamphlet outlines the General Plan of the International Art-Union. In exchange for an annual fee of five dollars the subscriber received an engraving equal to the value of the subscription as well as the opportunity for an American student to study in Europe for two years subsidized by the Union. The final two pages advertise the engravings held by the Art-Union. Among those listed under the "Committee of Reference" are Washington Irving and N.P. Ellis. unknown books
