All volumes are in comparable condition with rubbing to spine ends and corners light soil and spotting on cloth and occasional foxing internally. Volume I 'Lincoln the Citizen' has a fold-out facsimile of Lincoln's handwritten autobiography for the 1860 presidential campain; this is neatly torn three quarters of the way along the bottom fold. Each volume is green cloth with spine stamped in gilt and each contains a half-tone frontispiece with tissue overlay. The bindings are all tight and the interiors clean.
