Miller Olive Beaupre.
My Bookhouse "Red Edition" 7-volume set complete.
Chicago: The Bookhouse for Children 1925-28. 17th printing. Good/A favorite for home schooling even today Miller designed the Bookhouse as a graduated set of readings for a child to grow into beginning with nursery rhymes and finishing with a book of biographical essays on world-famous authors including Louisa May Alcott Kate Greenaway Selma Lagerlöf and rabindranath Tagore. The sets were marketed door-to-door primarily by a female sales staff. In contrast to earlier six-volume editions this 17th edition began a series of shorter volumes in sturdier bindings. Miller hoped the sets would endure through several childhoods. Later editions expanded to 12 volumes. 24 cm. 7 volumes: In the Nursery Story Time Up One Pair of Stairs Over the Hills Through Fairy Halls The Magic Garden and The Latch Key. All volumes bound in original red cloth with mounted illustration on front cover. All volumes illustrated in four-color lithography. Condition: rather worn especially the earlier volumes In the Nursery and Story Time yet solid true and entire. Cover plates abraded and faded. Wear to corners and edges. Pages moderately toned with some tears and finger marks. Yet good. The Bookhouse for Children hardcover books
