This copy is slightly shelf worn else very good condition handwritten letter laid in requesting a review. Evidently selections from an unaltered diary kept between Dec '58 scene a Tacoma hotel room to June '66 the Bowery; depressing sexual activity alternates with starings out of flophouse windows. Includes a stock portrait of and elegy for Richard Farina whom Mel misses. Mel figures in David Felton's cult-study "Mindfuckers" where we read that "Many of Lyman's followers are like thousands of us who have experienced the profoundest anxieties loneliness and fear while tripping on LSD. So they found Mel who did speak the truth about it but who took the truth and those fears and twisted them and used them to humiliate and control An American Avatar Publication paperback
