Various sizes. A few images obviously lacking or removed; modest rubbing on the boards a little damage to a few images mostly very good or better. Most of the photographs have been captioned in ink on the images a number have been captioned in red pencil on the black pages on which the images are mounted. Various and sporadic dates between 1892 and 1902. Documents a well-to-do colony of inhabitants of Guatemala including several expatriate families. Hand-inked label on front board loosely cataloging the contents reads: "Quezaltenango & Zunl. Casa Raphael Diaz - Our Family - Woods Family - Winterton's Duke - Payzants - Bornholts School - Piggots - 'Louie' Donahue - Potters - Lexie Meru - Everalls - Raphael Diaz - Callie Thompson - Lovette." Interesting images of families in Guatemala mosly in the adjoining city and town of Quezaltenango and Zunil including many of the towns and surrounding countryside as well as domestic scenes. Near the end of the album are several cyanotypes with detailed captions of damage caused by the catastrophic Quetzaltenango earthquake and volcanic eruption in 1902.
