Large armorial crest stamped to both boards gilt to upper. All edges and endpapers marbled. School prize plate to front pastedown dated 1879. A few thumb prints and minor tears to prelims. Moderate outer wear; re-backed to a robust usable condition. Good overall. First published as the second part of a three book series c.1862 vol. I being 'Mammalia' and vol. Avery have charm.~~Brown embossed cloth stamped in gilt with image of Gulliver both on the upper board and the spine. Lacking the front endpaper and the first blank leaf.
