"L'après-guerre ouvre une période heureuse et prospère pour Collioure qui attire alors à elle des artistes désireux de renouer avec le plaisir de la création et une certaine insouciance. Pendant un peu plus de 20 ans, Collioure, à l'instar d'autres villages de la côte méditerranéenne, construit sa légende. Ce Collioure, joyeux et festif, vibre autour de quelques personnalités fortes. Willy Mucha, René Pous, Balbino Giner aimantent autour d'eux artistes mais aussi stars du show-biz se mêlant dans une ambiance où le travail n'exclut pas la fête. On va à Collioure autant pour voir que pour être vu. Les derniers feux de la cité des peintres brillent alors de tout leur éclat avant que ne s'opère la mutation de cette côte en aire de loisirs sous la pression de l'héliotropisme et de l'aménagement touristique. En 1968, dans un immense feu de joie brûlent les barques de Collioure pour libérer la plage et faire de la place au tourisme naissant. Le port de pêche devient station balnéaire, l'authenticité se mue en folklore et les artistes désertent la ville. En 1985, l'installation du musée au sein de la villa Pams muséalise cette histoire désormais devenue patrimoine. Un monde en chasse un autre."

LES MAITRES DE L'AFFICHE, prestigieuse publication d'art, éditée par l'atelier de lithographie Chaix, dont la parution s'étala de décembre 1895 à novembre 1900. Chaque livraison comportait 4 planches en lithographie, des plus belles affiches illustrées des grands artistes français et étrangers. Chaque livraison comportait 4 planches de reproduction en chromolithographie d'une remarquable qualité d'impression des plus belles affiches illustrées des grands artistes français et étrangers (auxquelles il faut ajouter 16 planches de lithographies originales données en prime aux abonnés). Lors de l'Exposition universelle de 1889, fut organisée la première exposition rétrospective dévolue à l'affiche, celle-ci devait valider la reconnaissance officielle d'appartenance de l'affiche au monde de l'art. Jules Chéret (1836-1932) y sera sacré '' Maître de l'affiche '', c'est aussi à cette date que Seurat commencera à collectionner les affiches de Chéret.
