Cloyd Gill showing the many subversive organizations connected to the American Youth Congress a youth organization founded in 1935 to address problems facing young people in the 1930s. The AYC attracted many Communist and Socialist sympathizers many of whom are listed here including members of the Young Communist League who were subpoenaed by the Dies Committee in 1939. Gill appears to place special emphasis on the large amount of Communists Jews and Negros associated with the many groups listed especially the AYC's "Brain Trust." Other similar "red scare" charts/maps produced by Gill include "America's 60 Other Families" "The Fifth Column Conspiracy in America: Authentic Map and Directory" "The Fifth Column Menaces America on a Thousand Fronts" and "Termites in the Temple Gates." Old folds a few tiny nicks to the edges but a well-preserved copy. No record for this chart in OCLC. Scarce. Alexander Cloyd Gill 1889-1943 was a journalist who helped organize the 1936 Asheville Conference a major gathering of prominent nationalists and anti-Semites under the guise of combating Communism. He began collaborating with Joseph P. Kamp and his Constitutional Educational League and helped fund the League's voluminous propaganda efforts. He was found dead in his League office in 1943.
